In the quiet stillness of the night
A breeze gently stirs the leaves on the trees
And your memory drifts into my mind
You are with me once again
I can almost smell your sweet scent lingering in the air
And feel your touch brushing softly against my skin
I close my eyes and see your beautiful face looking at mine
With a smile that treats my wounded heart with a healing salve
If only I could press your lips to mine one more time
And hear your voice that keeps playing in my mind
Like a favorite song I never want to end
Did I just hear you giggle or was it my imagination?
Oh, how I miss hearing your laugh
I know you’ll have to leave soon, but please stay with me
Until my eyes grows weary and I can no longer fight sleep
Then I will look forward to another evening
