A child's imagination
Is something special to behold
Inanimate objects come to life
Creating new stories to be told
"Ahoy, there matey," he called out to me
From a cardboard box
"I found some buried treasure, Mom"
His hands full of twigs and rocks
He sings his favorite songs to me
Cause he's a rock star in his mind
And as a mighty Power Ranger
He fights those who live a life of crime
A hockey pro and baseball star
Are what he'd like to be
He leaps and yells pretending
He's Tarzan swinging from a tree
He's a soldier and an astronaut
A Pokemon master in his dreams
A gymnast on the monkey bars
Winning a gold medal for his team
His imagination beckons me
To all that life could be
If I keep on dreaming
Despite whatever I may see
